Technology giant GE said it has opened a new dissolved gas analysis monitoring centre in Sabhan Industrial Area of Kuwait in partnership with the country's Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW).

This is another major step in GE’s partnership with MEW to modernise and digitise Kuwait’s electrical network.

The company will deploy its advanced digital industrial solutions to help partners achieve unprecedented levels of operational efficiency and productivity, said the company in a statement.

The turnkey service solution incorporates the retrofit of ageing transformers with monitoring sensors as well as software installation and support from a GE service expert for customer support and data analysis.

This asset performance management solution is an example of GE’s leading digital services and technology, said senior GE officials at the launch.

The new centre was opened in the presence of Dr Essam Al Marzouq, the Oil Minister and Minister of Electricity & Water; Mohammed Bouhshary, the undersecretary at Ministry of Electricity; Jaseem Al Noury, the assistant undersecretary of Transmission Network; and Mohammed Mohaisen, the president & CEO of Grid Solutions (Mena and Turkey) at GE.

GE said it will offer the latest in services solutions to manage the health condition of critical assets.

From the DGA monitoring center inaugurated today, MEW can visualize the state of their equipment in real-time, said the company in its statement.

The data received enables MEW to predict issues & challenges before they occur. This further strengthens reliability - both for the networks and for the communities MEW serves, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
